Suggested Apps and Websites
(Below are a few apps and websites I used during the COVID shut down spring 2020.)
A P P S
App: Khan Academy Kids This is a free app and comes highly recommended by oodles of teachers across North America.
App: Montessori Crosswords by L'Escapadou (is currently $3.99 in the app store only for iphone/ipad) This app has fun games to develop spelling, reading and writign skills using a phonics-enabled movable alphabet. I have used this app in previous years on class ipads and have also used it in whole group instruction. The children enjoy playing along.
Beck and Bo apps by AVOKIDDO (there are a number of different apps by AVOKIDDO that have been fun to use). Again...this one is not free ($3.99) and it is for iphone/ipad/appletv.
Mathseeds - this is an app (FREE in the App store) and a website (just click on the image and it will take you to the website) with freebies available.

This site has a lot of free levelled books for you and your Kindee to read through.
This site offers a lot of information about birds, animals, and nature. There are videos, activities, facts, colouring pages, and more! Once you’ve made your birdhouse, see if you can identify any birds that come to visit! Bonus...This link takes you one of my favourite places in this site: https://www.audubon.org/bird-guide
This is in the WE ARE TEACHERS website. There are a whole bunch of authors to choose from. Click on the image and then once at the site click on an author name.
These activities are for Gr1 and up but there are some fun games that your Kindee might enjoy!
Head out on a virtual field trip to the Vancouver Aquarium and check out their live cameras.
Here is a quick link to Music with Mrs. Spaulding - you can find all of her amazing lessons on YouTube. Use the search feature in YouTube and type in LFES Primary Lesson - they should all pop up for you.
This link will take you to ParentMap (lots of info here too...it really is like drinking from the fire hose when you are online!) for more information on painting stones and rocks for Kindness.
Lots of free music lessons here.
Aerobic A-Z We use this quite often in the classroom - especially when we need to MOVE!! Try it along with your Kindee! We especially like the ending.
Click on the image to take you to an article to help you talk to your child about COVID-19
There are a number of FREE activities here for the Kindees (phonics and math).
Mystery Doug answers real questions asked by real children. Questions like
